SYNOPSIS

2026, a press junket for a new feature ‘The Break’ - a film by Ben William-Mason. Sebastian Mycroft, a burgeoning movie star charmingly recounts the tale of how he landed his big break. We then cut to a trendy, metropolitan, flashy members club in 2023. An industry hotspot where instagram models and creatives rub shoulders. Sebastian, whilst awaiting the arrival of his guest and childhood friend Eric, realises that Ben William-Mason, - who gave him his first role - is currently sat inside the members club. Now filled with belief, Sebastian attempts to re-connect with Ben in the hope of life changing success. As Sebastian and Eric move from floor to floor, encountering various bizarre characters, we notice a divide between the two young men. Sebastian’s burning desire only becomes more prevalent. Once Eric leaves Sebastian is alone. On the outside of the in crowd, a stranger looking in, he finally finds Ben. This builds to a devastating climax as Sebastian is reminded, once again, that he truly is just an ‘ordinary guy.’
